The neotropical cormorant (Phalacrocorax auritus), also known as biguá, cormorant, black cormorant, sea raven, yeco, yeco duck, pintail duck or crow is a bird of the Phalacrocoracidae suliforme family. It is a seabird that is geographically distributed throughout the American tropics and subtropics, the Rio Grande and the Gulf and Californian coasts of the USA south through Mexico, Central and South America. It also is found in Bahamas, Cuba and Trinidad.

The Biguá is a large dark waterfowl, with a peak in long hook and a long tail. The neck is long and often in the form of S. The adult plumage is mainly black with a yellow patch on the throat. The length is about 70-75 cm, with a wingspan of juveniles of 1 m and a weight of 1 to 1.5 kg. The sexes are similar in appearance and size
