Distribution: All Chile to the Strait of Magellan. Also in Tierra del Fuego where it was introduced in the 50s.
Length: 90 centimeters.
It is a small canid of greyish coat and a thick tail holder. In total, tail included, tien a length of about 80-90 cm long and weighing up to 4 kg.
This is one of the three fox species living in Chile and more adaptable. Foxes are family dogs, but not domesticated. Foxes do not form stable couples and one male with several females usually cross the territory it inhabits.
