TREKKING THE VOLCANO RANO KAO

Departing from your hotel covering part of the coastal and archaeological heritage route, heading Otai Mataveri sector visit to endemic nursery crops and CONAF, continuing to visiting volcano Rano Kao eucalyptus forests, plantations made at the time the operating company Williamson Balfour.

We continue to climb to the crater of the volcano, where the descent and visit the same place. In this crater you can see lots of native plants and contemporary, as well as petroglyphs unique in its kind; the dimensions of this are 1.6 kms in diameter and 250 meters deep.

Currently all drinking water consumed in the town of Hanga Roa is extracted from the crater.
