Wine Tour - Cousino Macul Vineyard
Our excursion begins at 10:00 am. from your hotel in Santiago, where our driver will pass by you to take you to the famous and renowned Viña Cousiño Macul.
The tour of the Cousiño Macul vineyard begins in the old vineyards that give rise to the types of wine that the vineyard produces, a moment to appreciate the landscape of endless plantations spread over more than 100 hectares, running in the direction of the mountain range.
The second place of detention is the old winery, a brick and calicanto construction completed in 1877, where the old wooden pipes used for wine fermentation and aging processes are hidden. Now in disuse, they are a testimony of old technologies now considered obsolete, replaced by modern stainless steel containers, which serve the fermentation process and other French oak used for aging.
The route continues through what is possibly the most important jewel of the vineyard, the old aging room hidden seven meters underground. This room, illuminated only by chandeliers, has the peculiarity of its cool temperature, achieved thanks to an ingenious system of double walls, which manages to maintain the space at approximately 14ºC.
After the visit to Cousiño Macul, you can visit the Wine Shop with fairly convenient prices and then return to your hotel.
