Ascent Licancabur Volcano

DAY 1:
From San Pedro de Atacama you take the international route to Paso Jama (you have to make customs control before), 48 km of road is accessed by Paso Hito Cajón. From here are 4 km on a Bolivian transfer to the mountain refuge that is in the national reserve of Andean fauna Eduardo Avaroa (Bolivia).
During the afternoon you can do a light trekking of approximately 1 and a half hours along the edge of the White Lagoon, then dine and sleep as early as possible.

DAY 2
The itinerary is quite heavy, considering that you start walking less at 4:00 am. Around 11:00 am summit takes place and the descent takes about 3 hours. It is essential acclimatization and experience in steep terrain.

Once at the base, return to the mountain refuge in 4 x 4, eat, rest and transfer to the border to return to San Pedro de Atacama at approximately 6 pm.
