Puerto Varas is located 20 km north of Puerto Montt, on the southwestern shore of Lake Llanquihue. The city has 28,000 inhabitants and is located in a natural setting formed by the lake and the Osorno and Calbuco.
This city has a temperate rainy climate with no dry season, so Precipitation occurs throughout the year.
