The Hornopirén volcano is part of the scenic attraction offered by the city of Hornopirén, located at kilometer 109 of the so-called Carretera Austral.
Currently the volcano is inactive, it is a basaltic-andesitic stratovolcano that is mostly covered by forests and a glacier on its summit. This volcano, whose name means "snow oven"
